What’s something you believe everyone should know.
I think everyone should know that living one’s life in faith doesn’t mean that one should abandon all fun things and become a super religious monk.
Life is given to us by God to live it fully and to enjoy it.
A life based in faith doesn’t ask of you to select a religion and follow super strict rules.
Remember Jesus? He never asked one to follow some religious movement. He only asked of us strong moral principles among which the most important ones are ‘Don’t kill’ and ‘Love your neighbour’.
In a highly divisive society, here in the West, however, we have something that Jesus wouldn’t approve. He did ask ‘follow me’ but he is kind and graceful and the most important message from him towards humanity was LOVE. He loved the humanity!
Jesus Christ wouldn’t approve of condemnation of other religious choices and paths. In all of them there is a search of the Devine, be it Islam or paganism or Buddhism. We should stop banning some faiths, and judge people based on their religious beliefs and principles.
When I first arrived to Brussels from my beloved Russia, it was Muslim woman from Senegal who really saved my life. Her faith in God was so pure and wonderful! It was amazing to see! She would invite me to eat with her, take me to the market, introduce me to her friends, let me use her phone and watch TV with her. I was just a poor student with very little money, only 19, lost in a foreign land, sharing a tiny room with something like ten other people.
Fatima got me out of trouble and looked after me as a mother would do.
Fatima is no longer with us, sadly so, but her legacy is still living in me, and I have only respect for Muslim people who honour our God, our creator, and work hard. I am not planning to become a Muslim (I am a Christian), but condemning a belief is wrong, immoral and stupid.
That’s all I wanted to say.
